"HEY, HARRIET!" Meet Harriet Oct. 4!

Book Sales Calendar
-- OCT. 4: I will be at the vendors market at Cooper Chick's G.O.A.T. Soapery and G.O.A.T Cafe at 3825 Peavine Rd. (just outside of Fairfield Glade), with a special appearance by Harriet! The market is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Harriet will be there noon to 1 p.m. If you haven't met Harriet, or even if you have before, this will be your last chance to see her this year. Even if you don't buy a book, drop by and meet Harriet. She is a special beagle.
-- OCT. 8: I will be at the Fairfield Glade farmers market again. The market runs every Wednesday through October, but this might be my last time there. It depends on the weather and other scheduling considerations.
-- OCT. 18: I will be set up at the daylong Upper Cumberland Bigfoot Festival held at Cumberland County Fairground in Crossville. This is a big event each year for the area. It will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Keith Robinson, author and journalist
The little stray beagle who became known as Harriet wasn’t just any homeless dog wandering the woods and neighborhoods of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, in the spring and summer of 2021 looking for tidbits of food.
She appeared mysteriously during an unsettling, even tumultuous, time for our country. The lingering COVID-19 pandemic still was keeping us apart, and controversy over the outcome of the 2020 presidential election between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden was tearing us apart.
The timing was right for Harriet to enter our lives.
An uplifting story of benevolence

Reviews
“This charming little book will tug at your heart. But that’s not all. It will also help in restoring humanity’s desire for neighborliness, compassion, and belonging -- all of which is what makes a community worth living in.”
-- Rev. Dr. James E. Janecek, pastor, Fairfield Glade Community Church.
“The real-life tale of Harriet brings out the genuine volunteer spirit of Fairfield Glade residents. In a society where individual pursuits often overshadow communal efforts, Hey, Harriet! serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the profound impact humans can have through selfless service. This story about a little dog captures the essence of giving back by ordinary individuals who made a difference in their community.”
-- John Wedgworth, president, Fairfield Glade Resident Services

"I read it from cover to cover. . . . I cried and I laughed. I don't know what higher praise I could offer. Thank you for sharing the story of this brave little dog and the wonderful people across Fairfield Glade and the Plateau who have come to love her. But I fell in love with her through your words."
-- Steve Lokker, journalist.
Book club meets Harriet
Mountain View Book Club No. 1 in Fairfield Glade had the pleasure of meeting Harriet on Sept. 15, 2025. I spoke briefly to the club about how I came to write the book. But Harriet stole the show as she strolled among the members, some of whom fed her doggy treats while her owner, Jody Farley, answered questions about her. (I didn't mind playing second fiddle to Harriet.) The hostess, Ann Chard, got a chocolate cake with "Harriet" written on it for the occasion. Holding Harriet is Jody, and club members are, from left, Carolyn Merrill, Preston Farquhar, Ruth Farquhar, Ann, Cinda Leber, Linda Anderson and Lesley Whiston.
